The New York State 9-1-1 Coordinators Association is an active group of 9-1-1 Professionals representing the 62 Counties that make up New York State.

​

This group meets bi-annually to discuss issues of importance to our occupation and enables us the opportunity to share information and to gain critical skills required to excel in our field.

New Legislation

Senator Monica Martinez, Chair of Local 

Government Committee introduced two bills the week of February 6, 2023:

​

S4560 calls for the repealing of the section of Tax Law that moved $0.50 of the $1.20 into the General Fund and calling for grants to be raised from $75m to $100m

​

S4583 calls for the State to offer a statewide ESInet available for connection to local PSAPs.

Governor Hochul Signs 9-1-1 Saves

On the 20th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation recognizing 9-1-1 telecommunicators and dispatchers as First Responders.  

​

"Legislation (S.7121/A.7366-A) Defines a "First Responder in Communications" as an Individual Who is a Public Safety Dispatcher, Emergency Responder, Emergency Operator, Emergency Complaint Operator and Emergency Services Dispatcher Who Meets Minimum Requirements by Local Government"
